SLUG’s 28th anniversary fashion show. Article with pics
March 30, 2017
In celebration of its anniversary, SLUG MAGAZINE showcased the work of 28 designers and 28 models, with hairstyling and makeup provided by students of The Paul Mitchell School of Salt Lake City and Ogden, plus the Taylor Andrews Academy.
Each designer was assigned a year. McGrews pulled 2009, and we created a rock and roll tribute dress to The Cramps, whose lead singer, Lux Interior, died in 2009 and appeared on SLUG’s March cover. Rest in peace, Lux. My vivid memories of seeing the CRAMPS live makes me feel like I lived through an important part of history.
The dress combines a custom cincher with a basque and tutu made from custom dye sublimation printed fabric, featuring The Cramps’ logo and artwork from their first album, Bad Music for Bad People. Modeled by the lovely Yaz, we couldn’t be more proud of these show-stoppers.
